Voting in a Hackathon

How to cast your vote in a hackathon and see the winners once results are announced.

Hackathons let your team recognise the best projects. If you're eligible to vote, here's how to cast your vote and follow the results.

Casting your vote#

  1. Open the hackathon's Vote page.
  2. Confirm you're able to vote — depending on how the hackathon is set up, one of two things happens:
    • External voters verify with a one-time code sent to their email.
    • Members simply vote while signed in, with no code needed.
  3. Choose the project you want to support and submit your vote.

You get one vote per hackathon, so pick the project you most want to back.

Seeing the results#

How results appear depends on the organizer's setup:

  • Live counts — vote totals update as votes come in, so you can watch the tally.
  • Hidden until announced — counts stay hidden until the organizer announces the results.

Once results are announced, the winner and runner-up are shown.
